Every Subway Sauce, Explained
Baja Chipotle
Subway’s most-ordered sauce. A smoky, creamy chipotle mayo with a mild kick. It replaced the older Chipotle Southwest sauce and is now the headline sauce in the limited-time Baja Bliss sandwich collection.
Sweet Onion Teriyaki
A sweet, glossy sauce built around soy and sugar. It’s the signature sauce behind the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki sub and works well on anything where you want a sweet contrast to savory toppings.
Ranch
Cool, herby and creamy. Pairs with almost anything, but especially shines on chicken-based subs like Chicken & Bacon Ranch, where it’s part of the name for a reason.
Honey Mustard
Sweet and tangy, this sauce was briefly discontinued before returning to the permanent lineup due to customer demand. A lighter option than the creamy sauces, and a good pick if you’re watching calories.
Garlic Aioli
A thick, garlicky, creamy sauce that holds up well against heavier proteins. Used as a signature ingredient in several Protein Pocket flavors on the new Fresh Value Menu.
Parmesan Vinaigrette
A lighter, oil-based option with a sharp parmesan tang. One of the better choices if you’re ordering a salad rather than a sandwich and want a dressing rather than a sandwich sauce.
Mayonnaise
Neutral, creamy, and a base note in several other Subway sauces. The safest default if you’re not sure what else to choose.
Smoky BBQ
A bold, sweet, smoky tomato-based sauce. Pairs especially well with steak subs and the Honey Mustard BBQ Chicken sub, where it complements the existing honey mustard base.
Creamy Sriracha
A spicy, tangy, creamy sauce that debuted as part of the new Spicy Pepperoni Deli Fave on the Fresh Value Menu. If you like heat without losing creaminess, this is currently one of the most talked-about sauces on the menu.
Oil & Vinegar
The classic Italian sub dressing. Light, sharp, and the lowest-calorie liquid option on the list — a good pick if you’re trying to keep a sandwich lighter without losing flavor.
Yellow Mustard
A classic deli-style mustard. Works well on ham and turkey subs where you want sharpness without sweetness.
Hot Honey
A sweet-and-spicy honey sauce found at select locations or during limited-time promotions. Worth asking about if you want something different from the standard lineup.

What Changed in the Subway Sauces List for 2026
The biggest update to the Subway sauces menu in recent years is the discontinuation of Chipotle Southwest in favor of Baja Chipotle. The flavor is similar — both are smoky, creamy chipotle-based sauces — but Baja Chipotle has a slightly different balance and is now the sauce used across Subway’s newer menu items, including the Baja Bliss sandwich collection and several Protein Pocket flavors on the Fresh Value Menu.
Creamy Sriracha is the other notable recent addition, introduced alongside the new Deli Faves line in 2026. If you tried the Subway sauces list a year or two ago, these are the two changes worth knowing before you order.
